Onto Tying The Knot

Inspiration, Wedding, Wedding Planning

You’re engaged, now what to do next?!

Tying the knot is next, well technically you have to plan it all first. You’ve said hopefully an enthusiastic “yes” to the man of your dreams, but by now you may be feeling overwhelmed by all the choices you have to make next. Where to have the wedding, what you’re going to eat during your wedding reception, even the theme or colors of the bridesmaids’ dresses. There are so many choices that you’re expected to make very suddenly after you’ve gotten engaged. For some of you reading this, this is an easy task. You planned from an early age what their fairytale wedding might look like.

But for some of us, it is such a daunting task. If you’re the latter, I suggest hiring planner along with a day of coordinator, because they handle the necessary tasks involved in wedding days that shouldn’t fall on the shoulders of family or friends (they should be present for every part of your day!) Deciding to hire help may just be what takes the stress out of tying the knot!

What to do first

Now that you’re engaged, you need to figure out how many guests you’ll have attending, approximately. Then you should try to narrow down a list of venue possibilities that can accommodate all of your guests–as your day can’t go on unless you have that secured first! Once you have your venue, you can choose a date based upon what works for the venues. << If you’re in Greenville, South Carolina there are tons of beautiful options for wedding venues to tie the knot at that fit any budget and style. >> One of my favorites is the Biltmore House in Asheville, NC.

After choosing your date by corresponding with your venue, it’s time to think about what kind of photography and videography you’d like to have of your day. If it’s high on your priority list, make sure that you find a photographer that suits your desired style. Meet them, either in person or on a video call; ensure that you enjoy their personality, otherwise you wouldn’t be a good match. You’ll be spending a lot of time with your photographers on your wedding day, so you want to make sure that you will feel comfortable around them! If you’ve found this post helpful and you like my portfolio, I’d love to see if we’re a great fit! click here and fill out my contact form; I’ll be in touch shortly.
Next, you need to decide on the more fun details like how to decorate the space, what kind of food should be served, or honeymoon plans!

Let’s recap!

  1. Get that guest list down on paper!
  2. Choose your venue!
  3. Choose your date!
  4. Find a photographer that is a great fit for you!
  5. Onto the fun details (dresses and cakes!)

Now you’re successfully on your way to Tying the Knot!
